I am available for consultation if you have questions about the anatomical and histopathological pathology aspect of your study. I can give suggestions on animals models, controls, relevant necropsy needs, histology necessities, as well has providing outlines or details for the histopathology analysis. I can provide input or refinements to study protocols.
I strongly believe that a necropsy performed or supervised by a pathologist experienced in device pathology on-site is the conditio-sine-qua-non to accomplish a thorough and speedy pathology analysis. Often forgotten is the fact, that the trimming of the fixed tissue samples is also part of "gross pathology". Unless a very experienced histology team is entrusted with the trim, the pathologist who had conducted or supervised the necropsy shall be performing this crucial portion of the study as well.
I am available for GLP and non-GLP gross pathology assessments.
The histopathology portion of "D-Path" report is very different to the one in a "Tox-Path" report as nearly every report is customized to specific devices or study needs. Histopathology results are provided either as a narrative, via semiquantitative scoring, and occasionally via histomorphometry, but they should always be shown in context with the gross findings. Moreover, test article controls are rarely included and animal numbers are low - therefore only experienced pathologists might be able to provide relevant and meaningful interpretations.
I have currently limited availability for non-GLP histopathology, and none for GLP studies.
